Very recently, I along with my family visited Germany and were staying at Walldorf. In one of the weekends, we along with our collegue's family decided to visit Black Forest.

Black Forest is one of the beautiful places in Germany with lots of natural lakes, streams and deep forests. It is situated in the South-Western part of the Germany bordering Switerzland, France and Neckar River. The reason why this place is called Black Forst is because of the presence of dense pine trees covering the entire area - thus giving a picture of dark from the distance. But unarguably, Black Forest is one of the best places for the nature lovers with its deep forests, natural streams, woods, mountains. This place is also famous for the Cuckoo Clocks and I learnt that this place has the finest craftsmen of cuckoo clocks.

Since we visited the place during March end - we were assuming that we'll not see snows. But to our surprise, the Black forest area was full of snow. Down the hill, the temparature was close to 10 degree celcius. When we climbed up the mountain it was -2 degree celcius. We were wondering this place should be called White forest instead of Black Forest as the complete mountain ranges, the forest was covered with snow.
This is the at the top of the black forest mountain. You can see that the picture is not so clear as there was a fog with snow.

It was an amazing experience for us to see at one place so much of snow as we had never got a chance to see such a place in India (unless we go to Himalayas - of course).
