Alleppey is famous for Boat House.Everything outside looked like a big city. We had to go inside a small narrow mud road (by walk) whose sides consisted few houses. We went further. we could see many boat houses standing in a line .

We went inside the one which was booked for us. This was a small one.

The boat house had three persons with us. One to drive the boat, one to cook and the other to assist these two. It is up to our choice to choose the food as veg or nonveg. Our journey started. The water covered here is the back waters of Kerala. We were taken around 40Km from the place we started. It covered around 6 villages which are also surrounded by water. Its nice to go like this. Come we shall start..

Our boat typically consisted of a main living area, a bed room, a bath room and a kitchen. The kitchen was behind where we were not able to move. Only the cook and the other who was assisting used to move to kitchen and th living area. They never came inside our bed room which had an attached bath room. This is the living are.



The door which can be seen in the above photo lead to the bed room which further lead to bath room. Our bed room even consisted of two windows and a fan if required. Electricity supply is through battery.

Boat houses are basically made out of cane. Vow its made so beautifully. Oh my god hats of to those people who does this. It looks like a typical house. The one which we had taken was a small one. Few boat houses were very big with two or more bed rooms with the facility of TV etc Few of them even had first floor where a small party can also be arranged. Few of them even looked royal.



How far can you see.. only water can be seen with trees.





Our boat stopped for lunch after we went few miles. It stopped at a village. The lunch was prepared by the cook who was with us. He had done it very well. Good food. He made us to sit and served us on the banana leaf. They were very loving.

Our post lunch boat drive started. We enjoyed a lot looking into different kinds of boat houses and the villages which passes by. It seems that this huge amount of water is been supplied to more than 60 villages for irrigation purpose. The villages which are found on the sides were very small ones. In the below photograph we can see some people of a village enjoying.



Our journey continued. Looking into the villages on the sides, find our boat sailing when it was almost evening and we could experience calmsness.
